About Us

MMI Industrial & Steel has deep roots in Arizona. This family owned business, founded in 1974, has grown from a small millwright services company to a multi-faceted corporation with solid operations in structural steel fabrication and erection, as well as continued growth in industrial millwright services.

Today, MMI is one of the larger employers in Mesa, AZ supporting more than 100 families who contribute daily to the success of this growing venture.

Our Proud History

1972
Owner Clifton Pinckard starts with truck and welder
1974
Milling Machinery, Inc. (MMI) name is developed and incorporated
1981
Land in Mesa is purchased and a small office and fabrication shop is constructed
1984
MMI does its first steel erection project at the new Frito-Lay Plant in Casa Grande, AZ
1985
MMI purchases neighboring property to expand fabrication yard
1989
Clif’s sons Dusty and Stacy start learning the ropes working on millwright field crews
1998
MMI expands fabrication shop again
2001
MMI adds new shop equipment for further fabrication growth
2007
Dusty purchases the business from father Clifton and brother Stacy
2008
MMI does first large video board replacement at the Diamondbacks stadium in Phoenix
2010
MMI endures the recession without laying off a single employee
2012
MMI fabricates and erects the Phoenix Premium Outlet Mall, the largest full-service steel job to date
2017
Company invests in facility improvements
2018
Company invests in new equipment for fabrication growth
2020
Purchase of additional property for large expansion
