Since 2021, we have been collaborating with Marketech International Corp at the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) project in north Phoenix. Rigging and Handling of Top-Heavy Tanks
One of the most significant challenges we faced was the rigging and handling of top-heavy tanks. These tanks posed a high risk due to their weight distribution, which could lead to instability during transport and installation.
Solution: Detailed Work Plan and Rigging Plan
To mitigate this risk, we developed a detailed work plan that included an equipment rigging plan. This plan outlined every step of the handling process, specifying the equipment and techniques to be used at each stage. By clearly defining these procedures, we were able to minimize the risk of accidents.
High-Risk Activities
High-risk activities, particularly those involving heavy lifting and precise placement, were another major challenge. These activities required careful coordination and continuous monitoring to ensure safety and accuracy.
Solution: Clear Communication and Continuous Monitoring
To address this, we established a thorough communication protocol between the supervision team and the craft workers. Prior to handling any equipment, supervisors conducted briefings to ensure that all team members were aware of their roles and the specific risks involved. Additionally, continuous monitoring by the supervision team allowed for real-time adjustments and interventions, ensuring that the work plan was adhered to meticulously.
