Longevity and commitment are the foundation of success in almost any business. It is no different at MMI Industrial and Steel where we take pride in the individuals who embody our core values and contribute significantly to our thriving work culture. Joshua Tyler, affectionately known as JT, is our longest-tenured ironworker, marking an impressive 6 ½ years with MMI. His unwavering dedication, positive outlook, and versatile skill set make him an invaluable asset to our team.

His willingness to go the extra mile resonates with MMI's commitment to excellence.
Skills That Speak Volumes
With over two decades of experience in the construction industry, JT brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. Having navigated various roles in his extensive career, he is a seasoned ironworker with expertise in traditional tasks as well as mechanical, industrial, and field fabrication. JT's welding skills are exemplary, making him a versatile asset, capable of handling any challenge thrown his way. His proficiency stems from a diverse background, having worked on a myriad of projects, each of them memorable in their own way.
However, there is one project that is a standout for JT. “There are many meaningful projects we have done and the most memorable was removing and reinstalling the scoreboard in the snow in Colorado,” he recalled of the scoreboard project for the Colorado Springs Switchbacks at Weidner Field. The project encompassed everything JT enjoys most about his job – working outdoors, working with power tools, and working with his hands.
A Team Player and Problem Solver
JT’s collaborative spirit is a cornerstone of his success at MMI. He seamlessly integrates with foremen and crew members, fostering a positive and efficient work environment and taking pride in getting the job done right the first time. Colleagues, including Jason Barnes, PM Services Manager, have nothing but praise for JT. Jason shared, “He (JT) works well with all the foremen and crew. There are never any negative complaints about him or his work ethic.” JT’s ability to work well within a team, coupled with a knack for problem-solving, elevates the entire crew's performance. While he takes his job very seriously, there is also a light-hearted side to JT. He enjoys joking around with his crew, sharing laughs when work allows. He possesses the remarkable ability to put everyone on his job sites at ease.
Individuals like Joshua Tyler are the heartbeat of success for any organization. His dedication, skills, and positive approach make him an asset to MMI and a role model for those aspiring to thrive in this dynamic field.
JT’s advice for anyone interested in pursuing a career in the industrial steel business is, “It's a fun and interesting job. If you want to learn, come on board with MMI. We are willing to teach, and we have a good job waiting for you.”
As we celebrate JT's 6 ½ years with us, we look forward to many more years of collaboration, innovation, and success with him as one of our most trusted ironworkers.
