Kevin “Dino” Williams’s longevity in the construction and maintenance industry is what makes him a very valuable asset. He has logged an impressive 40 years including almost 17 with MMI Industrial & Steel where he’s currently employed as an Industrial Foreman, managing industrial and millwright crews for our Industrial Services division.
Though impossible to ignore, it is not only his experience that sets Dino apart, but the attitude with which he approaches his job. Christopher Jackman, VP of ConstructionField Services describes Dino as one who is always willing to step up, whether for an out-of-town project needing supervision, weekend work or overtime with will little to no notice, Dino does what is necessary to complete a project. According to Jackman, Dino is also very fluent in Spanish, stating, “English seems to be his second language.” Dino’s bilingual capabilities only add to his excellent communication skills which he uses to connect with clients and coworkers alike, continually building long lasting relationships.
Dino thrives in those relationships, especially when it comes to the crews he leads. He enjoys working through the challenges with them.
Together, they see projects through completion and revel at their finished work. Each project, as each day, is different, but it is what Dino enjoys most about his job. The project he has enjoyed most is the one in which he says he was able to travel to Mexico to disassemble a machine shop, and then return to Phoenix, only to put it back together.
Experience such as Dino’s comes with knowledge and understanding beyond what can be taught in any formal education. Much like his time, his words are golden. If someone is interested in working in the industrial steel business, he would say it’s a great place to be career-wise, explaining “No matter what the economy does, customers will need their equipment installed and maintained.” and with that comes job security. The same security, in an ever-changing environment, that he has found.
